I Have Immunity Cocktail Recipe

Did you know that chili peppers have a potent immune-boosting  nutritional composition and are also an excellent source of beta carotene, a powerful antioxidant? Drink up!

Cure for What Ails You

While scientists continue to work on a Covid 19 vaccine, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be building your immune system. If you’re like me, you’re stocking up on citrus because it’s in season and available in bulk. High in vitamin C, it mixes well with other immune-boosting ingredients like ginger, jalapeños, turmeric, and—oh yeah—booze. You’ve gotta fight germs with a little splash of alcohol, right?

While I prefer mezcal, this recipe would also work with vodka or gin. Or you can skip the liquor entirely and still be sipping in style.

Maybe you want to conserve your ingredients and sip some mezcal neat. Just don’t forget the sal de gusano

Recipe

Servings: 1 cocktail

1/8 teaspoon ginger

1/8 teaspoon turmeric

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

3 tangerines, juiced

equal(ish) parts water (or sparkling if you’ve got it!)

1 shot mezcal

ice

1 jalapeño, sliced for garnish

Rim glass with sal de gusano if you have it or cayenne (use your leftover tangerine rinds to wet you glass then twirl the edge on a plate of seasoning). Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker or bell jar with ice, strain and serve. Add desired amount of sliced jalapeño.
